Charnelle Shephard, brings over 20 years of educational experience, beginning as a substitute teacher, High School Social Studies teacher, and assistant principal. This is her second year serving as the proud Principal of Kernodle Middle School. 

She is a 2011 participant of the Piedmont Triad Leadership Academy and a 2012 graduate with administration licensure from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in History from Fayetteville State University and Masters of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Cultural Foundations of Education focusing on alternative education and at-risk students.  

She is a daughter, wife, and mother of two, a singer, play-wright, motivational speaker, entrepreneur and has a heart and passion for education. She lives by the philosophy that, "people don't care how much you know, until they know how much you care".

She is invested in making sure our Kernodle Middle School community works to accomplish 3C's: 

Communication, Collaboration, and a Community that achieves our 3B's to be, bold, brave, and brilliant!
